Rodvig - a change of wind

Today didn't start well. From 1.30am to 4 am the high energy music was blasting from the bar just a stone's throw away from where we are moored...again.

This time Lesley went to tackle them about the noise level, to find a dozen drunk people with glassy eyes who didn't understand what the fuss was about - and simply laughed at her distress.

She stomped back to the boat to phone the police at 1.45. 'I'm afraid things are different in Denmark' said a polite policeman. ' They probably have a licence to play music until 4 or 5am. But I'll send a patrol car to swing by the bar.'

Lesley tried cotton wool in the ears, pillow over the head, but nothing could drown the insistent beat which changed every 3 minutes for a new track until 4 o clock.

We can't leave Rodvig - and escape the broken nights - until our bowthruster is fixed. That's the little engine in the bow of the boat to give us added manevurability - trying to reverse our boat without it in the crowded marina is a nonstarter.

So we really look forward to tomorrow when the electrician is due to arrive.

And there's another reason we need him - the fridge is still kaput. We blagged another bag of fisherman's ice today to substitute for the fridge but it turns to water all too soon.

The fierce heat has abated and there's a sharp wind blowing - from a new direction. What a relief!

We got through a list of stuff to do but were both feeling rather glum about the number of things that don't work.

However we cheered up in time for a pleasant G&T on board with  fellow Brits Tim and Jayne who leave the port tomorrow.  And the most important thing is we are back at home on our beloved boat.
