Progress

At 8am a burly electrician arrived with a bright smile and broken English. In half an hour he had fixed the bow thruster  (loose connection) and identified the problem with the fridge but sadly could not solve it.

So we are now free to leave Rodvig tomorrow - if that is we can worm our way out of this crowded marina. Boat after boat has forced itself into the spaces around us and we are wedged  in a tight corner anyway. We will have to rely on the goodwill of Danish sailors awake at 0730 to take our lines and help us shimmy out of here. Though anything weighing ten tons doesn't really shimmy...

We bought the harbour master Jens a bottle of whisky to say thank you for all he's done. And collected more fishermens ice from the fish warehouse to dump in the kaput fridge.

We had already done our navigation for the planned trip tomorrow - so the afternoon was ours. We took ourselves back to the pebbly beach with a bathing platform and numerous jellyfish. (See pic) The water was gloriously warm once you acclimatised. Nic claimed to have felt lots of jellied creatures around him. Lesley refused to look or acknowledge any such encounters. If you don't look you don't see.

The other task was for Lesley to tweet about her BBC World Service radio programme on Why we Love Boats which features Tom Cunliffe and our old friend Harry from Gillingham Marina. You can hear via this link.

Now we are cooking a curry and preparing for our first day sailing for ten weeks. It's real progress.
